I am Samuel Mula Ndula, I did metal work in 2013. The course equipped me with the skills in welding and fitting. After completion of my studies, I was employed by Sky Line Company. My payment was based on the amount of work. The days I had more work I would earn between Ksh. 8,000- 12,000 per week. The work was good, however when I got some family commitments I lost the job. Even though I had explained my situation earlier, when I got back to work, I found that somebody had been employed in my area of work. I took the challenge in good faith and joined Jua kali sector where am working at the moment. I stay on my own at Mukuru Kwa Ngenga and am able to afford house rent of Ksh. 2000, as well as provide for my other basic needs.
My greatest joy is that am independent because of the skills I learnt in CTC. Some of the values I acquired include; good interpersonal relationships, self control, customer care as well as how to be cost effective.
I would advise the current students to stay focused; re-evaluate their family background and works towards a better future.
